Hi Im having a strange problem here with my clients. My AP is RB500 with ubiquiti 400mw mpci and there is one sector antenna 20dbi connected to this AP. On the day time everything is fine until around 20:00 or 21:00, then the ping with all clients jumps to 400 ms and more but in the day time ping reply is around 10 ms. The problem is not the loading becouse sometimes I have much more clients connected in the day than in the evening and everything is fine. Can you please help me with this problem . Below is the table of the clients that connects to the AP
0 wlan1 00:4F:62:02:B1:8F no -78dBm… 11Mbps

First try disabling the AP your clients are having trouble with and reenable.
Sometimes this lets us know if there is something funny with the connections.
If the above has no efect, try changing channel while during the time you have high ping times.
Valon,
Writte me a number and Ill give you a call. Or call us in office and look for me
thnx
Kujta
Just set signal strength to 23.
Also try changing frequency.
I have noticed this problem with all 5213 CM9 specially 400mW ubiquiti.
Personal opinion is problem with MT drivers.
Thank you guys but it looks better not becouse I changed any thing but just by itself. I think some other provajder is doing this to me he is turning on any of his AP on the same channel, anyway thanks a lot.
One think I see with your log of connections is that none of the MAC address’s are the same?
Do you have MAC authentication enabled?
Matt
Have you -checked- the load? Pay attention to packets per second, an 802.11b ap can’t handle too many packets per second.Could be that you got some local interference but then again, that many people on 802.11b AP around the busy hours of the day…
Certainly sounds like interference to me.
or probably load. Having connected more customers doesn’t mean having more DATA transferred.
there could be someone who is working on Photoshop files all day and then he starts uploads to corporation/customers at 8:00PM.
do u use queue for traffic ?
if not this also could be a problem.
Thank you guys all. The problem is solved I didnt do anything special just changed the frequency, I think it was interference, yes I use queues in traffic, anyway thank you all.
I google now "high ping " and find this old topic…
same problem to me… at day all ping fine., at night., ping from 200 - 1000 ( and higher ) … I have only few computers wireless connected., 4 friends and I.
tried to mac isolation., tried change frequency, tried only " b mod " , then " g mod " … still high ping…
is it possible, that someone jam signal at night with some kind of amateur radio station or similar ?
It is possible that something interferes on the band at night.
It could just as easily be another 802.11 radio though that suddenly sees a lot of traffic at night (as someone comes home).
