There are so much great stuff scattered around in the wiki and here on the board. I would like to make a complete guide for the beginner how to set up at standard home router. Not being a network engineer I an in over my head and I would have to “steel” most of the settings from the examples around on the board and in the wiki.

Do you think it would work - and would there be space here on the board to make this as an “open source” project where everyone could contribute? and would there be interest for a project like this?

How much firewall are there actually in a standard consumer router D-Link or Linksys? the statefull firewall as they all write - I think is a given thing and a side effect of the NAT. But what more is actually in?
