Hi all,
I have three wisp which broadcast in hyperlan with vertically polarized antennas. Besides free use of frequencies is advantageous to use horizontal polarization?
thanks

i’m trying to understand this as well, but from what I have learned it sounds like every situation is different. try both ways and see which gives you better performance? I read somewhere that horizontal is better for long distance point to points. Vertical is better is you are serving laptops since their antennas are mostly vertical.
Horizontal is better over water. And of course use it to avoid interference if everyone else is running vertical.

I’ve found most use Vertical. So horizontal is the better way for less interference.
not really a rule.
we have dual pol 60º antennas on a huge Telecom tower which has everything on it (you name it, TV, FM, GSM…).
horizontal doesn’t work at all and vertical works just peachy.
we had tried separate units, 411 we tried 532 with 502, we tried 600 with 604 nothing, horizontal doesn’t work properly. after a while we end up moving customers on vertical.
the only thing I haven’t done is grounding the antennas… forgot… my bad
but i’m so tired of climbing that 75m beast
so it’ll have to wait for now.
mate, if you have too many around you using 2.4G or 5G on vert, you can use hor but with a minimum channel separation, that will cut a bit of your throughput but you’ll be all right.

Horizontal will degrade less with completely open freznel.
If you have moderate foliage you will find that vertical will work better POTENTIALLY.
