all the standard access points are vertically polarized. If you want to less disturbances of these access points is the best it horizontally to polarize.
because there are 20 dB loss occurs at different polarizing
Since the 2.4 Ghz frequency crowded is it is better to use the 5 Ghz frequency to obtain a stable link. Mimo (multiple input multiple output) is a technique used to deliver more bandwidth, so have you mimo antennas that use a vertical and horizontal polarization and so to be able to obtain more bandwidth. for example, ubiquiti bullet has a mimo 1 x 75 Mbit, 2 x mimo for example the ubiquiti nanostation has a 120 Mbit transit, these are theoretical values
I have many 2 x 2 mimo link active on 5 Ghz with a speed close to 100 Mbit depending on the situation. 802 .11a provides maximum a speed of 54 Mbit in the best conditions, but this speed is rarely achieved
My advise, for point to point links use the 5 Ghz frequentie this is stable.
If you more bandwith need use devices with 2X2 mimo.
If i use the 5 Ghz frequentie use i a vertical polarisation because the radio amateurs use the horizontal polarisation.
