Hosting Mikrotik in the Cloud

Hello All,

Has anyone being successful installing Mikrotik on Cloud server? I have labored for days trying to do this on 1and1 cloud but I wasn’t successful. This evening I got a message 1and1 support that no one has been successful importing any other image or ISO aside the one provide by them. So disappointing.

Can anyone suggest a cloud server that works without hassle.

Thanks,
Charles.

Amazon AWS has a one click MikroTik installation in the Marketplace.

The Amazon AWS cloud service running a Mikrotik CHR can be pretty fast !
I’ve seen some amazingly fast Mikrotik btest bandwidth tests to the 207.32.195.2 (public) btest server - wow - they have some bandwidth !

…aparently you are based in Germany when you are referring to 1and1…I am running several CHR on vservers at netcup without problems.
The CHR image does not support SCSI drivers, but VIRTIO seems to be supported.
With the provider I mentioned above, you can select/swap drivers for the hdd used and install CHR permanently.

I found this thread and took it as a challenge - i’ve now successfully deployed a CHR to the 1&1 public cloud platform…what issues were you facing?

We return a couple in Azure and they’ve been stable for over a year..
