If you connect through ftp, you will find in the hotspot folder on the server a text file called “errors”. Just edit that file. Look through it, it is self explanatory.
I don’t have that file, only error.html but this is a html page that reports errors. Can you paste content of errors file.
BTW I have 2.8.26
Then you should probably upgrade to 2.9.x. I do not know if this is possible with 2.8.
