Hot spot using two RB750s.... ??

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone can advise, would be much appreciated.

We have two buildings, one fed by ADSL the other I can tap off the 100Mb raw ISP feed. I want to setup an inexpensive WiFi hot spot for corporate guest access and it cannot connect to corporate LAN - our FWs don’t provide Guest access and therefore it’s deemed separated in that respect.

User base will be < 30 simultaneous

Cannot run LAN based servers, but could run WAN based RADIUS if pushed, pref not though.

Looking at RB750s in each building

Need advice on wide coverage /g/n APs (MIMO I hear is the new technology for range)

Local auth is preferred (such no reliance on anything else), however as we planning 2 750s in separate building, so a synchronised auth system that non IT tech staff can easily add user/name to would be ideal. If not then they’ll have to simply login to both, it’s not a big deal, but just the iceing so to speak.

Two buildings, two floors in each.

If you have any thoughts on how to configure 750s to sync auth locally, and appropriate APs that would be much appreciated.

Also, maybe I can add WiFi to 750 (although I note it doesn’t have a mini-PCI slot :frowning: )

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

So I can use User Manager and perhaps a VPN between the two RB750s

But I guess my only outstanding question is what APs to use? Maybe something based on DD-WRT to give greatest flexibility? Or perhaps the RB411AR?

Have been looking at Ubiquiti PowerAP n but these are a little consumer ‘looking’ where as I’m creating WiFi for an office environment, or maybe EnGenius EAP-3660? Need to cover 4 floors of office space across two buildings. At least one AP in each building covering (if lucky) both floors…

Any suggestions?

Cheers
