Hotspot 2.0 News

Good morning forum,

I am wondering why mikrotik doesn’t give official info about this topic. ¿Has anybody seen the last Indonesia MUM? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My22bkfuVZo, (the pdf could be download from here)

If so, has anybody tried it? I’ve tried myself without success, even I can’t see the operator-name with a compatible device (IOS 9). Of course, I can’t reach the internet or associate with the AP.

Uldis seems to be one that could help us…

Thank you,

Can someone share

Yeah I want to know more too. As far as I know though 802.11u is supposed to be a way of integrating access with your phone provider to make moving from lte to wifi seamless. Presumably there would need to be some connectiom to the billing systems and I would imagine it needs cooperation between different cell providers and some mechanism for the billing to pay the wifi operator for their data provision. Perhaps it’s based on the standards but there is no way to facilitate it yet?

Did you see the linked PDF? https://mum.mikrotik.com//presentations/ID16/presentation_3271_1476849522.pdf

Which step is not working for you ?

How roaming works with hotspot 2.0 protocol?
I successfully running passpoint network but I cant understand how roaming works with hotspot 2.0

With this example who is the operator? How would a company get revenues from allowing passpoint on their network?

+1 from me

Is there any official word about when Mikrotik will release Hotspot 2.0?

Once more, did you see the above links? Hotspot 2.0 is already in RouterOS for a long time.

Is there any documentation for configure hotspot 2.0 rather than the pretension

Hi,
Hotspot 2.0 (Release 2) introduces new feature Online Sign Up server. Is RouterOS support this feature? I am asking not about embedded in RouterOS OSU server, but how to tell wifi clients about available OSU server.

Can you please explain me the difference between traditional EAP-TTLS with “XML profile download” and your implementation of “internetworking profile” ?

where is the “certificate’s dir” ? (client and server)
where is the OSU - related “internetworking profile” ?

In other words, mkt-HotSpot 2.0 have all of the option ON, the question is what is the meaning of internetworking profile ? (compared to EAP-TTLS wifi networks with XML profile downloaded)

Thanks indeed

Hey @normis
Any chance of seeing MikroTik on that list?
