HotSpot and AP with WPA security on the same radio

Dear all,

We now have a hotspot running on a 2,4GHz radio, but we need also an Access Point with WPA protection and different SSID on that same radio.

Should we configure two VirtualAP´s, one for the hotspot and the other for the AP with WPA?

Or do we only need one virtualAP for the AP with WPA and keep the hotspot on the main rario?

HotSpot is configured per interface. Virtual AP and original wireless interfaces are different interfaces from the HotSpot point of view.
VAP provides different SSID and different security-profile for the wireless interface.

Thank you very much for your answer sergejs, …but I am not able to make it work.

We have hotspot1 running on wlan1 (as you can see in the image), and have created a virtual ap on wlan1 named wlan3 intended to be the AP with WPA security.

The problem is that when someone connects to wlan3, the system doesn´t assign him and IP.

I have tried to create a new DHCP Server named server1 (dhcp1 is the server used by the hotspot) to operate on wlan3, but WinBox shows it in red (invalid) ¿does anybody know why?

you have to assign a valid ip address to vap interface in order to make dhcp server work

Thanks ayufan, that was the problem. Now it´s working all right.
