Hotspot and Authorize.net integration and transaction issues

[heavy sigh!] :frowning:

I give up. The hotspot/authorize.net integration in v6.27 is SO frustrating to deal with!

We have a hotspot configured to use authorize.net for payment. We have constructed a webpage to show potential users the various service offerings. After many hours of trials and tests we managed to get it to work. We also discovered that the user experience is abysmal.

So, I thought I would post here to see if anyone else has figured out how to provide a better user experience.

The basic problem is that after a user completes entering their payment information in the Auth.net payment form and clicks ‘Submit’ - the very next page they see is produced by the Mikrotik and just has a button that reads - Continue to User Manager. There is no other information - not a thank you for your payment, not a success or failure - nothing - nada.

The real problem occurs when a user’s cc is declined - the user gets to the exact same page with the same button - Continue to User Manager which they click and then at the next page attempt to login - which then fails simply stating invalid username/password which is WRONG! The user has no idea why. They think that they have been charged money and then can’t login! Lets just say that we have had more than our share of pissed off people calling us to accuse us of taking their money and giving them nothing. These are not fun calls.

We have to login to the userman, click the Payments button and discover that the user’s cc was declined. Why this information isn’t presented to the user mystifies me and why there seems to be no way to customise a receipt page also mystifies me.

If there are ways to do any of this the documentation (which is usually very good for Mikrotik) is utterly lacking any useful information as to how to do any customizing of the web interface. In fact the documentation that I have recently seen actualy shows a page with ‘Payment Successful’ and the Continue to User Manager button underneath. That isn’t the case in the 6.27 version of the user manager and the documentation pre-dates that release of v6.27

So, I ask - does anyone out there know how to create a solution that provides a hotspot user a better signup experience with a customizable receipt.

Thanks,
Bob
