Hotspot and IP binding question

I have the hotspot feature running for my wireless network. I issue static IP addresses for regular customers and would like to bind the IP address so they can bypass the login screen. When I do this the user will not showup in the hotspot manager for active accounts. Is there a way i can do this to be able to see who is on-line at all times.

MT v2.9.50

Instead of using IP binding to auto authenticate your permanent customers, you can use MAC address authentication.

So, you do this by adding their mac address to the users profile in the username field with no password.

This will then allow you to provide queues and mandwidth management as well as to use the web based usermanagement or other radius authentication system as well as many other things…

The user gets no web portal this way.

my friend, i tried in ip bindigs to add the macc address of clients but, again when i change the ip, he work in internet(type-bypass), if you can explain this ..

You do not do anything in IP Bindings menu, forget going down that path.

Instead go to IP>HOTSPOT>USERS and add a new user and for username put the mac address.

But you should also read hte documentation and manuals, because the exact step by step guide is there, you just have to look.

Erm… well, what exactly do you want to do?

DO you want to do bandwidth management for each user or what?

Read the documentation on the subject rate-limit

again in the user profile you just created you can set the bandwidth and busrting that you want to give each customers right there. This will then create the queue dynamically for you automatically…

yeah thats what i wanna do, i wanna do bandwith for each user

i tried in Users, Profile i tryed to add a profile but nothing happens in queues.

in the queues its onlu Hs-Wlan1 with 0.0.0.0/0 ip address, so if you can send me the command how to make this..

Thank youu

do you need the queue in queue sinmple for hs-wlan1?

If not remove it.

IN IP>HOTSPOT>USER add a new user then fill in the rate-limit field.

Refer to the manual for what to put in the rate limit field, as there are many options to handle bursting etc… a basic entry would be 64k/256k
