Hotspot And Network Printer

Hi ,

I have Routerboard 433 and for some security reasons I installed a Hotspot for my office but Also I have 3 Network printers so how I can make those printers assign ip cautomatically fromthat hotspot or whats the connfigration for the Hotspot if I want to give an IP to a device and its not asking for username and password ?

I am looking forward for your help .

Regards

You can set your printer to use dhcp client to get an IP address, then in the router go to
/ip dhcp-server lease make-static X
where X is the line number of the IP/mac listing for your printer. That way the printer gets the same IP every time it requests one. It works for my clients, so it should work for your printers.

Thanks Man for your fast response but another thing :

If I make the printer’sIP as Static , Can I make the printer’s IP as Static also ???

Thanks

Hi Rebaz,

This does not make the IP static. It makes the dhcp lease static. The lease never expires. The printer will request an IP every time it reboots, and the dhcp server will issue the same IP every time.

You can make the printer IP static if you desire. Just set the dhcp server to issue IPs above/below your printer IP.

Also,
you can bypass the hotspot authentication.
/ip hotspot ip-binding
address= type=bypassed.

Really I appreciate your help , It works .

Thanks

Okay friends, I have an HP Color Laser 3600n Printer. I always have my laser printer sleeping (not standby), and I occasionally print pages (may be less than 50 pages per year). Is my HP Color Laser 3600n Printer hazardous or dangerous to my health? Is it possible to conclude that this is true with all the recent laser printer news? Thank you very much in advance.
