Hotspot Apple Login Page HELP!

Using a self-signed certificate to allow Big Sur users to login to the hotspot crated a miserable experience for Android, iOS and Windows users (along with BIg Sur once logged in)–every secure web site generated a security warning popup and that identity of the certificate could not be confirmed.

Is there a way to get OS X/Big Sur to accept the http portal redirects just like Android, iOS and Windows?
