hotspot DHCP problems through wireless links

I installed our MT router in place of a Patronsoft hotspot but during testing we found one client who couldn’t get an IP address from the router.
As soon as I remove the MT and put the Patronsoft back online he connected.

This client is on a 3 leg hop, the MT feeds a Tranzeo 2.4G AP, an SM is wired to a Canopy AP, the Canopy SM is wired to another Tranzep AP, then the client connects via his SM.
I saw a mention in an earlier thread about the radios intercepting a DHCP request, has anyone seen this with Tranzeo or multiple RF hops?
Ping times are never over 200ms, usually under 75ms.
We are using ver 2.8.26.

Would checking the authoritative box for the DHCP server help?

This probably won’t fix your issue, but you should upgrade to 2.8.27 as there are some problems with lease times in 2.8.26 and possibly the firewall (was crashing my router anyway). Is this client running Windows ME? If so, you might need to force a release/renew via “winipcfg” from the command prompt.

The client is using XP, we had him do a few release and renews, he kept getting the 169.254.xxx.xxx that Microsoft is so proud of.
