Hotspot DNS Name

Is there any way to assign the same DNS Name to multiple hotspot profiles on the same router? If you use the same name then the only DNS record created is for the most recent entry. Does that have any impact on the functionality though?

I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. Never the less, DNS is used to relate IP addresses to FQDN names … if an entity doesn’t have IP address (e.g. dumb switch without management IP address), then DNS has no relation with it.

You can assigned a DNS name to the hotspot profile so users can use that instead of IP address of hotspot to access the portal. What I want it to use x.y.com no matter which hotspot the user is connected to so instructions are the same. It looks like this will only work as x1.y.com and x2.y.com as if you enter x.y.com on multiple hotspot profiles there is only a static DNS entry for one of the server IP addresses
