hi
i have a problem with mikrotik hotspot.
when i enable hotspot internet is down for clients but it doesn’t redirect to login page automatically. when i type my dns name manually, the login page opens real quick but it doesn’t happen automatically when i enter a domain address. after i disable hotspot internet is back for everyone.
is there a solution for this problem?
p.s: i enabled www-ssl servies in ip/services and checked https in user profile and also updated to the latest version. i didn’t solve it either.
Traditionally it’s up to client OS to detect hotspot. When connected to network, it should request some known page, check if it has expected content, and if not, assume there’s a hotspot and follow redirection to login pages. All standard systems support it, so unless you were too creative with config (there’s no limit what people are able invent), if should work for you too.
Since RouterOS 6.48 there’s also support for advertising hotspot using dhcp, but I didn’t test it myself. I also don’t have any idea what clients support it.
