Hotspot Filters and priorities

I have been trying to figure out how to give different traffic priorities to different users who authenticate using the hotspot service. I can assign the bandwidth fine using user profiles, but I just can’t figure out how to use the Incoming and Outgoing Packet Filters. I assume (…) that when you configure them, any packets to and from the client are marked accordingly. But, when I setup a mangle rule, or queue which has those selected packet marks in it, it sees no data.

MT does create the dynamic mangle rules but they show no data going through them.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how this works, or how would be the best way forward to acheive what I want to achieve ?
I’m using Routerboard 2.9.24

Thanks
Paul

should your first mangle rule maybe be in the ‘pre-hotspot’ chain and forward it to a new chain?
Haven’t tried this myself, but i seem to remember the dynamic hotspot rules have a tendency to jump to the top of the list if you enable/disbale hotspot or reboot…

B)

Yes, you have to redirect packets to HotSpot chain (from forward, prerouting).
