hotspot : frequently disconnected

Hi all,

we has one client that always complain about the hotspot system we installed for them.

The system using RB433, WLM54G plus rubber duck 9 db antenna and the area covered is about 50 meters radius.

The user profile setup as followed :

[admin@MikroTik] /ip hotspot user profile> prin
Flags: * - default
0 * name=“default” idle-timeout=15m keepalive-timeout=10m status-autorefresh=1m shared-users=1 transparent-proxy=no

The above setup have been implemented on various locations and only this client that always complain about frequently disconnected and followed by wrong username & password, user already login and try javascripts.

Within sudden inspection, I found that this client wooden building has aluminium foil surround and I suspect this aluminium foil is the problem source.

Can anyone give me the suggestion about this problem ?

Paul

Probably right about foil. Will kill signal. Only way around is with external aerial.

I already advice them to relocate the router but the manager insist not to move it.

Any other idea ? perhaps with upgrade the minipci ?

Paul

Dont have to relocate router if you move aerial.

if they’re disconnecting and reconnecting and getting ‘user already logged in’ perhaps you should change the keepalive timeout to 2minutes instead.

This would force the old session to disconnect.

Current setup is :

idle-timeout=15m keepalive-timeout=10m

We did change it to 1, 2 or even 0 but the same problem still happend
