Hotspot - getting to inside server/AP from outside

Hi Folks,

Got a situation where I need to be able to get to the AP that resides behind a 2.8.10 box. I need to get to it’s http interface for typical administrivia etc from the inet.

How do I go about setting it up so that its IP is always allowed out? The HS service appears to be capturing it on the outgoing, as incoming traf appears to be going through okay with the settings I’ve set.

I think I’ve seen something on the mailing list a while ago but can’t seem to find it now.

if i understand correctly, you need something like this :
http://www.mt.lv/Documentation/HowTo.html#How_dstnat

Did the DST-NAT fix it or are you using a Hotspot and it won’t work? I know how to get it working with a hotspot.

If you don’t use univeral clients you can follow these steps:

http://www.gpsinformation.org/hotspot/mthotspotredirect.html

if you use universal, make sure you add the MAC Address and To Address to the Access List

Still can’t seem to allow the AP to respond to incoming requests. It’s gateway etc is the MT box, so it should be okay. I’ve stuck it into it’s own network and made all the appropriate settings on the MT box to allow traffic to and fro the new subnet (and made sure the MT box had an address within the new subnet).

How and when exactly does the hotspot service intercept traffic?
