hotspot - if radius server is down, how do you....

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could help me with a flow; at the moment I’ve got a hotspot running and authorising against DMAsoftlabs radius. But what I would like to know is how would i go about setting up a passthrough rule if the radius server is down, users can access the internet.

Or if that can’t be done how about a method which allows all users to access the hotspot (like an on/off switch system)

Ok I found the easiest method of bypassing the hotspot -
simply add to the ip walled garden under tab “server” your ‘hotspot’ name and done. All user passthrough.

Now can anyone help me with a script that:

That pings XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
on response: checks again in 30 seconds
on fail: add ip hotspot walled ip action=accept server=hotspot
then checks ping every 30 seconds and remove that rule above on response.

Thanks for that - I completely forgot about that function. But its all working now :slight_smile:
