Hotspot Keepalive Timeout

What method does the MT use to determine that the user is still connected? I know it is not via pinging since I am not able to receive a response from a number of our clients since their routers are set not to respond to ping requests - but those customers still stay connected.

I am asking this since we are testing a new network setup and our test client keeps getting kicked off after 2 min (which is our timeout setting) when he gets connected to a VPN server, sends a large e-mail, or other continual bandwidth applications. But, if he is just performing basic web surfing or e-mail, his connection works just fine.

Any thougths? Or at least some input as to how the MT communicates to the client to determine they are still active.

Thanks

send support@mikrotik.com your supout.rif file that was made right after the client is disconnected. also make sure you use 2.8.23

i’m having similar problems. A client can be connected for just a few minutes, and then gets kicked out. Bad enought that it’s agervating just trying to browse the web. I dont have any specific timeouts set, and the time they disconnect is at any certain period.

Also, where can the supout.rif be found?
