Hotspot login for outdoor network

I am planning a hotspot network with around 10 APs in a harbour.

I am planning to feed all up to the lower-end cloud core router with fiber + 2 5GHz bridges.

Do I understand correctly if I can handle the authentication of the hotspot on the central router for all APs? I guess I will need a separate Radius server then?

Also, I presume the router should also be set-up as the wireless controller for the APs(?).

The documentation is a bit sparse for me with my limited knowledge, so any type of confirmation and recommendation is appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, you can control authentication on a central router. The routers have a built-in radius server (it’s called usermanager) that you can enable on the central router, or you can use an external radius server.

What do you mean setup the router as wireless controller? No, each AP will have a wireless card. Then, all DHCP, DNS, etc will be on the central router, and each AP will be bridged to the central router.
