Hotspot MAC authentication fix needed

Hello all,

We have the following problem with hotspot users authenticating by MAC address, with user-manager enabled and working.

Sometimes and especially after an accidental router reboot or a sudden electric failure, some MAC clients do not get authenticated, the message in the log is simply radius timed out.

We have tried a variety of possible fixes including increasing the radius timeout value, without success. The unauthenticated users have to be manually removed from the host list then they get successfully authenticated.

I have seen someone report the same problem on this forum, please advise if a fix is possible. or maybe a work around.

Thanks

BTW this is the hotspot config

ip hotspot profile> print
name=“hsprof1” hotspot-address=10.10.10.2 dns-name=“10.10.10.2”
html-directory=hotspot1 rate-limit=“” http-proxy=0.0.0.0:0
smtp-server=0.0.0.0 login-by=mac,cookie,http-pap http-cookie-lifetime=3d
split-user-domain=no use-radius=yes radius-accounting=yes
radius-interim-update=5m nas-port-type=wireless-802.11
radius-default-domain=“” radius-location-id=“” radius-location-name=“”

ip hotspot user profile> pr
name=“default” address-pool=hs-pool1 idle-timeout=30m
keepalive-timeout=10m status-autorefresh=none shared-users=1
rate-limit=“512k/512k” transparent-proxy=no

Thanks, problem seems fixed in version 2.9.40
