Hotspot Mac Authentication

Hi to all,
Does anyone now if it is possible to do mac authentication on hotspot, with a username that can fullfill all the macs?

The main idea is a school that wants to limit users to a limit of bandwidth on a hotspot, but without providing a user/pass to each one.

I thought of hotspot mac authentication, where i can limit bandwidth, and see how many pc´s are connected.

MAC-authentication requires, that user’s MAC-address is added to /ip hotspot user, otherwise authentication is not possible.

If you don’t want to do authentication wouldn’t it be much easier to just use PCQ?

You can enter one username/password and have multiple users login by setting
/ip hotspot user profile
set X shared-users=256
Replace X with the line number of the hotspot user profile
