Hi everybody,
I tried to find some information on for how long you can leave the MAC cookie for user (in the User Profile “MAC cookie timeout”). From the documentation I could not really find any information on that. Only that the default value is 3d 00:00:00
While trying to add MAC cookie timeout of 30 days (30d 00:00:00) - it accepts the value, but when new user is logged in - on hotspot cookies i can see that for the newly logged-in user the MAC cookie timer has started on the default value again. (3d 00:00:00 and going down).
I’m using v6.10 - is it OS problem or is the “MAC cookie timeout” max value the same as the default one (only 3d 00:00:00)?
Thanks.
Are you sure you not confusing MAC cookie timeout with HTTP cookie timeout?
Both have 3d for defaults
Exactly, both have default of 3 days. My question basically is - can you change these values to for example 10 days?
When i do that, for cookies it always stays on the default 3 day value.
I don’t use cookie logins, but I know where to change the value.
/ip hotspot profile
set X http-cookie-lifetime=10d
Change X to the line number or name of the hotspot profile.
If they don’t work, insure you use NTP client to set the correct time in the router.
The maximum value is 3d!!!
Was this a test or in the documentation?
I did. I set the http-cookie-lifetime=10d, and it set the http-cookie-lifetime=1w3d. Here is the output from the router:
[admin@test] /ip hotspot cookie> pri
Flags: M - mac-cookie
USER DOMAIN MAC-ADDRESS EXPIRES-IN
0 admin 00:16:76:04:CC:1E 1w2d23h58m6s
Here is the output from Chrome’s cookies:
