Hotspot Manager problem

My users are getting “Unable to contact Radius Server” errors when they try to login to our hotspot. We are using the Mikrotik Hotspot manager.

Authentication to work some of the time but not all the time.

Is this a known problem?

I don’t know the MikroTik HotSpot Manager, but in effect you are using a RADIUS server that’s located somewhere “at MikroTik”. If you network connection to this location (through the internet) is broken (or too slow), you’ll get this kind of error.

Reasons could be: dead uplink at your site, at MikroTik, server problem at MikroTik, routing problem “somewhere” in the world, high latency (i.e. slow connection to MikroTik), …
