I have a question regarding the hotspot function of Routerboard…
On a camping, there are 3 places where there is public internet :
camping A
camping B (other side of the road)
cafetaria (next to camping A)
There is no LOS between these, so using wifi sin’t possible…
Each location has its own internetconnection and own routerboard (RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN).
Now the owner of the camping wants that his visitors can use the internet on all the 3 places with the same ticket. So if they buy a hotspot ticket on camping A, they can also use the internet on camping B or at the cafetaria.
The internetconnections don’t have a fixed ip, but with the brandnew cloudfunction on ROS 6.15 that problem is solved i think?
How do i have to do this? Any ideas?
PS : next year there will be also a cafetaria on camping B where he wants internet.
PS2 : the owner has also a routerboard at his house that can act as master if required
Could you please explain it a little more what you mean? So i do understand that i have to create one hotspot per MT. That is already done. But i tought i had to work with one central MT with hotspot that act as a radius server?
It is a super tip but i dont know how to setup a radius server yet. No experience at all
Isn t the solution that i wrote possible? When i have a line with a fix ip? Or isnt the hotspot function on RB the same as real radius?
The Userman on Mikrotik is a radius server, so you can use something like DynDNS to link the remote sites to the central Radius server. Thus each router runs it’s own Hotspot, but authenticates to the central user manager.
