hotspot on virtual AP with wds

Question is, is this possible?

I have 2 APs already up and running. They are wds’d to each other on thier normal interfaces.

DONE:
I have created virtual ap (vap-1) interfaces on each AP.
I have set up a bridge (hotspot-bridge) containing the virtual ap interface on each AP.
I have set up a hotspot on each AP using the hotspot-bridge.
I have set up a dhcp server on HOTSPOT1(192.168.25.1) and set up dhcp relay on HOTSPOT2(192.168.25.2).
I have turned on WDS for the hotspot virtual interfaces on each AP.
FUTURE:
I will be setting up a radius server so each AP can serve user logins from radius.
I will move each hotspot to it’s own interface so it is not on a virtual AP interface.
WORKING:
Users can login using the built in accounts on each ap and receive a dhcp address from HOTSPOT1.
PROBLEM:
I cannot ping 192.168.25.1 from .2 and vice versa.
I cannot tell if someone connected to HOTSPOT2 is receiving a DHCP address from HOTSPOT1.

Does anyone see any issues that might cause problems? Has anyone done this before?

Both mikrotiks are routerboard 532a’s running 2.9.50

Thanks in advance.

Greetings!

I had a challenge with this when I set up more than one VAP on my net. The challenge I had was the MAC address on the second VAP. The default MAC issued to the second VAP is identical to the first VAP. I incremented the mac address on the second VAP, and all is well now. Could this be your challenge too?

I already checked that out. The mac addresses for all interfaces are unique.

I’m still new to the whole hotspot thing but my company plans on rolling out 15 or 20 hotspots within the next couple of months.

I did not notice before, but these two APs both have hotspots? And only authenticated client traffic is on the bridge? And the router that connects to the internet is just the Network Address Translator for all traffic, correct?

And the interfaces on each AP are wlan1 is the AP/hotspot, and wlan2 is the wds bridge?
