Hello,
I am installing a Mikrotik router into my network, my company will use it
for hotpost. The machine has this configuration:
Pentium IV 2.8Ghz
-Memory 1G
-HD 40
-Two network interfaces: 3COM 100Mbits
I setup the mikrotik router at the middle of my network, and try to
connect to the hotspot page, until this point it works great, the router
contacts my RADIUS server and received all the information correctly, but
when I disconnect the client, the system simplely CRASHS!!! At the
router´s console we can see a Kernel Panic page.
If you try to disconnect the user using the console, timeout or inactivity
it crashes in the same way.
A detail, this using the autentication via Radius.
When you try to connect using a local user, configured at the router, you
can login and logout without problems at the hotspot.
Another thing, I have a network load of 30Mbits, and the CPU usage is
between 20% and 30%.
I took the router to my lab, and tried the same procedure, but it worked
fine, without crashing when I logout.
I figured it out, that the problem happens when I put the server in my
network, with all the network load, at my lab without the load it worked
fine.
See… the problem is very strange, it only happens with a good network
load (30Mbits) and when I logout from the hotspot system, using a user
authenticated by RADIUS, if I use a local user, the problem does not
appear.
I already tested my computer using the memtest86 program, and it did not detected any problem, the hardware is ok.
I contact the mikrotik support but they are not helping me at all, and I have deadline to install the system or my job will be in a very big danger!!!
Someone has the same problem?
Sorry for my bad english and thanks in advance for all the help available.
