I’ve got to set up a small 5 cabin resort with mikrotik equip with a 802.11 hotspot. The buildings are arranged kinda randomly in a 500ftx250ft rectangle with varying elevations(we live in the hills). I believe this could be done very reliably with only 3 r112, however, I cannot for the life of me find an estimated hotspot range for this equipment. Does anyone know what the approx range is?
what is “hotspot range”? you probably mean the max distance from the client to the AP antenna. this is mostly a client factor, as the AP antenna probably can do any distance. the client, however, has a small antenna and a weak radio - so the distance max is usually ~200-300M in open areas.
