We have this problem with a redirect loop between our MT and captive portal page (hosted on a seperate server). Also means no internet access for our clients.
We’ve recently switched our environment over to MT (on a server) and Freeradius. We have about 80 monthly clients, spread out over wireless and VDSL, all doing MAC authentication (we moved to MT to start and move our clients to PPPoE auth).
Since we are doing MAC auth, we’re not using the captive portal, although we want unauthenticated clients to be directed to a “access restricted” page.
So what I’ve done is replace the original login.html and make it redirect to a simple html file on another server (which is whitelisted using walled garden) which only displays “Access restricted, please call.. bla bla bla”
Everything worked fine during my test phase which lasted 10 days with 8 clients always connected (on a LAN).
Now that the setup is live, this odd problem appears every ~24 hours which redirect loops very fast between MT and the captive portal server. Only thing that seems to fix it (sort of), is restarting MT, but then some of our wireless clients still experience the problem.
Has anyone experienced something like this? What can I provide for you guys to help out?
