Hotspot setup help: P2P configuration

Hi

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread:
I have the following setup (see attached document - note, we were previously running WDS, but have opted for a Hotspot setup), and I urgently need help in configuring the system to run a hotspot using User Manager for radius and authentication.

Some of the screenshots are older, so refer to text for new SSID’s.

The reason for this query is that I’m not sure whether the Hotspot should be running on the AP, or the backbone unit (see attachment). Also, do you need to setup up the hotspot for each Interface (as per attachment), or can you set it up to run over the bridge?

I’ve consulted the Mikrotik documents and Wiki’s, but it’s not really answering my questions (or I’m not reading correctly). Also, I’d appreciate comments on the interface configurations.

Any feedback would be deeply appreciated.

Ok - just to maybe fill the gaps:

I’ve figured out in the meantime that the Hotspots need to run on the AP’s. Whether a hotspot needs to run on each broadcasting channel, I still don’t know.

Also, it seems there shouldn’t be any problems getting all the hotspots (we’ll eventually have four AP’s broadcasting) to authenticate through a single User Manager.

I’m still a bit in the mist as to what represents the WAN and the LAN in terms of the Mikrotik interfaces.

Lastly, I understand User Manager does not have a problem with static client IP’s. Will this in any way be effected by the IP pools?
