Hotspot Setup not working on hAP Lite

I recently bought hAP Lite for my office and got it running within 5 minutes.
Its nice and decent ap with lot of things you can do .
So I started tinkering with hotspot.
but couldnt get it started .. i saw some videos on youtube but it had the same problem

My internet connection runs through a modem whose IP is 192.168.99.1

So I had Ether1 gateway port of hAP Lite configured to DHCP Client which picks up ip from modem (That’s 192.168.99.100)

I have default ip on my hAP Lite (192.168.88.1)

wlan interface ip is 192.168.88.1 (Default)
Eth2,3,4 ip is also 192.168.88.1 (Default)

I’m setting hotspot via Winbox as it seems easy to me

ip > Hotspot

after clicking on hotspot setup

I typed a webname of my choice and it doesnt exists .. i saw from some video that Mikrotik makes a local dns server and would put that in adress bar of person trying to log into my hotspot

at Last the setup is complete but you can see that the hotspot we just set up is highlighted in red..
I hooked a pc on ether4 to see that if its working or not . and I could acess the internet without any hotspot login page..
Is there any thing i’ve been missing ?
Help would be appreciated

Nah you are not setting hotspot on the right way..

Where are separate adresses pool for hotspot?

Where are dhcp server for hotspot ?

Where are firewall rules ?

Follow my tutorial for that how to setup hotspot in easiest way. (Use google translate to transate into English)

First create guest network separated from hotspot follow this:

This worked for me and now I am trying to do the same thing with Eth4 interface instead of Wlan.
Will be installing mikrotik user management package.
What say ?

How you meen to set Eth4 to Hotspot? Its nice to hear that i help somebody.

I have set it up currently on Hospot AP interface (Virtual AP on wlan1) and now i would try this on one of the lan ports of my router. Hotspot even on wired network. I can attach that LAN port to a switch or maybe another router

Ah, that. Yea will work the same via eth4 port. Repeat the same procedure for Eth4 like wlan2 or replace the interfaces in current configuration.

Dont know why but there is some strange thing about about speed

I’ve been noticing a drop in upload speed.
Upload Speed dropped when on Hotspot Virtual AP

This is speedtest on Hotspot AP

This speedtest was done when i was connected to Wlan1 AP (no virtual/hotspot AP)

This speedtest was done on Wired Connection to same router running Hotspot

Don’t you find this strange ?
I tried everything in hotspot also used default profile but even that didn’t help.. Still the upload speed barely touches 1 Mbps at hotspot. I have a 2 Mbps connection to this router.
Any suggestions ?
