I was messing with this and I did a packet capture and figured out a L7 filter that seemed to work for blocking it. IIRC, i blocked some keywords in the certificate that they use.
I was just playing around and dont know what I did.
Do you Have any thing about it ?
Did any one know how to do this with L7 Filter ?
Please help
Hi every one
My problem is that I do not know how to use L7 filter to block
hotspot shield and I know it is possible to do that with L7 filter
So please help
I honestly dont remember what the L7filter I created was. It was just for playing around and It was very generic so I couldnt guarantee it to work in a production environment. IIRC, I did a packet capture of me using hotspotshield. I found that every connection as secured by a certain CA. I just put the CA plaintext information into a L7filter and it worked.
Thanks Mr. roadracer96 but please tell ( as am biginner ) from where to start ?
I do not know how to capture a packet of using hotspotshield
From where you get this “CA plaintext information”
There should be some one know how to stop hotspot shield
I was having ISA server before 2 years and it was stop it, so Mikrotik
Should do also
I hope that … ???
Pls try to use User-manager to control your hotstop
Thanks Mr. Megateq But I do not want to use Mikrotik Hotspot and
user manager as I have a lot of users and they are working without
Login
Tell us more about your network , like the numbers of users on your network . However, you can still use hotspot/user manager , because there are provisions for users to by-pass hotspot under ip binding on hotspot.
