I have RB333 with MT 5.6, trying to work with parameter Idle Timeout in Hotspot user profie.
Using users from internal database (not radius), idle-timeout in user profile set to 00:02:00 (2 minutes), using http-chap authentication (without cookies). Checking parameter for active user in Winbox console (from other computer), idle time for user is 2 minutes, 3 minutes and nothing happens (user not disconnected). Any idea why?
Another thing: While seeing idle-time in winbox-hotspot-active , this value is sometims fluctuating about some value - 38s-39s-40s-39s-40s-39s-38s …, my understanding is, that when traffic appears, this idle time should be reset to zero and start again, or am I wrong?
altho i knew the difference between idle-timeout and keepalive-timeout , it seems that i have no idea atm. try again with keepalive-timeout this time. its working for me and the client gets disconnected.
Keepalive timeout works, but I’d like to use idle timeout as well …
