My router is running a hotspot in routerOS 2.9.6. Alleready I have a 150 user using the service and the problem is as usually with msn messenger. I have 3 user profiles, 64kbps, 128kbps and 256kbps. When a user who is a member of 64kbps profile is using messenger and he starts to download something after he reaches 64kbps there is no ping reply and he cant use msn until he stops that download, this is normal but is there anyway I can limit the users in that way to divide te bandwidth for msn and for other services. I know it is possible to prioritize icmp with queue tree but hotspot makes dynamic queues in simple queues so I think this will not help. Any help from someone that did something like this or suggests me how to do it I will be appriciated.
if you won’t use rate-limit for HotSpot profiles, you can configure static queue rules, to prioritize some traffic (using mangle and different priorities).
