Just got Mikrotik RB5009 with dmaRadiusManager working here. Except the behavior of the user splash pages is erratic.
I have installed LetsEncrypt SSL certificate. hotspot.jfjjajf.org and my RB5009 is assigning DHCP addresses from 10.10.10.1/24. The RB5009 is 10.10.10.1
From an iPhone, over a wifi network I am getting a dhcp ip address from the RB5009. I get the splash page from Mikrotik hotspot and can log in. The page changes to show welcome, status and a logout button (I have not yet clicked Done to leave the login process on the iPhone yet). At this point, I can logout and it continues to show splash page with login button. I can toggle back and forth all day at this point, but who would want to. The idea is to select Done and go enjoy the internet.
At this point I am now on the internet and all is well, UNTIL I want my status. I open a browser and go to 10.10.10.1/status. This works. I see my IP address, my usage and Log out button. NOW, when I click on Log out button, instead of going to a new splash page with my stats and a Log in button at 10.10.10.1 with me successfully logged out, I get REDIRECTED to https://hotspot.jfjjajf.org/logout? and it returns Error 404: Not Found
Why?
The result of this REDIRECTION and Error is that I do NOT get disconnected and have no way to do so. Further most users don’t know this and end up wasting their allotments of time and quota.
All assistance greatly appreciated. With the exception of this hiccup, this combination of equipment and software is top notch. I am continuing to test other user platforms. So far Windows 11 seems to behave properly. I have yet to try Android or Linux user devices.
