i have a question my hotspot is running works and fine, my mikbox have 5 ports the ether4 is the hotspot network
ether1 = wan port
ether2 = application servers 10.2.2.0/24
ether3 = office network 10.11.0.0/24
ether4 = hotspot 10.12.0.0/24
ether5 = 10.13.0.1/30(connected to 2nd router)
now my question is, if im connected now in hotspot i can ping office network such as one of our staff have static ip in his computer, but if im in office network i cant ping any static AP belong to hotspot network,i try to enable the proxy-arp in ether4 nothing happen, my nanostation belong to hotspot and the ip is 10.12.0.6 but i cant ping anyone can explain why is this happen?
If the AP bypassed in the Hotspot so that it counts as an authenticated device? Traffic to and from authenticated devices is blocked. Alternatively you can permit ICMP traffic in the “/ip hotspot walled-garden ip” section. Or - my favorite option, if the hardware supports it - move the management IP of the AP onto a different network, since it doesn’t belong behind the Hotspot.
