Hotspot's strange login problem

someone in the neighborhood claim that my hotspot has an error which it once
a while lets people in without correct credentials. not always, but sometimes
anyone can type a text for user:pass like aaa & bbb and click login, they
first get a denial, but then click back and reopen home page they are logged in.

when i first created the hotspot, it generated a bunch of Firewall nat and filter rules
by default and i have been using them ever since. a few of them are red colored, but the
rest are ok. so whats causing such a problem that allows anyone to get on the net free
without a correct user pass?

many thanks

the best way is to check by your self and see if this is true or not, go to that user who said that he can login with aaa and bbb as us/pw, also you can check the log for the hotspot router to see if this is true.

it was said that this was happening only sometimes. i tried it few time myself but it was ok.
i do frequently check log, but the problem with log is that it gets overwritten it only show like
30 last activities, and there are ppl that gets on on off repeatably. so logs don’t show me
everything i need.

Set up an external syslog server so you can keep the records indefinitely.

You can check the cookies, all the logged in account should be kept there, so if it is true then you will find that account there, and from my point of view, u won’t find it cause it’s not possible.

Hesham

That would be something of interest. any link on setup walk-through ?
