I’m trying to get my MikroTik to establish to a PPTP connection to an external VPN provider. After that I want to use policy based routing (I think) to only route certain types of traffic over that VPN tunnel.
I’ve created a new PPTP Client interface, and put in the FQDN, credentials, and ticked the “dial on demand” option… but it’s not working. It simply says status of “waiting for packets” when I enabled the interface.
I’m hardly a MikroTik expert… but I do somehow need to that PPTP Client interface to the actual PPoE interface that’s providing the internet connection? .. or does the Mikrotik simply try and establish the outbound connection using it’s default route?
What about firewall rules, do I need to create new rules to support the outbound traffic? I’ve tried creating a new Forward rule for TCP 1723… but no luck.
I’m fumbling around the interface, if anyone could steer me in the right direction, that would be appreciated.
