How can I establish a PPTP client connection?

Hi there -

Fairly new to Microtik. I’m trying to establish a PPTP client connection from my Mikrotik to an external VPN provider.

I setup the PPTP connection, provide FQDN and credentials, and set “dial on demand”. But when I enable the connection, it just sits there saying “waiting for packets”.

I have created an Output firewall rule for TCP 1723, which I believe is the PPTP port.

Is there something else I can use troubleshoot, or work out what’s happening? If I create the same PPTP connection using my Windows 8 PC, it connects fine, so I know my credentials are working etc.
