Hello I uploaded npk file to router I cannot use winbox and http in this router
it seems I am going tu upgrade it by using telnet but what’s the commands?
The command to upgrade after uploading the file is:…
/system reboot
You may want to have a look at the documentation to become more familiar with RouterOS
http://www.mikrotik.com/documentation.html

in documentation it says
“Check for the newest BIOS update in the all packages archive available from our download page. BIOS update file is called wlb-bios-[version_number].fwf where version_number is the version of BIOS firmware.”
I couldn’t find any file which has fwf extension.
The BIOS Firmware is rolled in with the RouterOS upgrades.
You can check what version is installed and what version is ready to be programmed with
/system routerboard print
To flash the new firmware if it is newer than the one you are using
/system routerboard upgrade
and of course a reboot will then load the new BIOS.

sarpkaya: Make sure you also upgrade the ´system´ package. You can only upgrade any other package to the same version that the ´system´ package has. If you don´t upgrade the ´system´ package but you did upload any other package with a higher number then the ´system´ package version, the other package is just not updated.
I didn’t understand what do you mean
I couldn’t find fwf extension bios no
I have a problem in my routerboard that’s why I can only do it in telnet and trying to solve it for upgrading it.
So you cannot use winbox or ftp?
Well, then only netinstall is the option, using console (see also: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/First_time_startup) and the netinstall program (http://www.mikrotik.com/download.html).
Connect your router with a ´nul-modem´ cable (a special RS323 or serial cable, buy it in a shop or make one yourself, info in the Wiki) to a PC. Also connect that PC with the Ethernet to your board to be upgraded.
Now open a terminal session in windows (first set the settings right, look at the wiki or in the MT ref. manual) and power the board up.
When the board has booted you should see it in the netinstall window. Click on the routerboard and also select the packages you want to upgrade (take in mind what I said before about the system package) and then click the ´install´ button. After the package is uploaded in console you can reboot the unit and after some time it should come up with the new updated packages.
If that is done you type ¨/ system routerboard print¨ to see if you now have a newer firmware as well (What probably is the case) and then type ¨/ system routerboard upgrade¨ followed by ¨Y¨ (see: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Upgrading_the_router)
I hope this helps…
you don’t have to use any “fwf” files. that document that you found is probably outdated.
Upgrade procedure
RouterOS:
- Download routeros.npk file from mikrotik.com
- FTP the file to the router (you can also drag it to the Files window in Winbox)
- Reboot the router
RouterBOARD BIOS:
- Upgrade RouterOS
- Run command “/system routerboard upgrade”
I am using RB 333
I have tried to upgrade it yesterday night. I put that file and restarted it problem has appeard
That POE with ETH1 was working OK but other 2 eth ports was going out and lighting again. I thought It was upgrading process I waited approximately 15 hours and It was doing samething I removed electricial plug and put It again It did same problem.
After that
I took out electricial plug again
I was pushing reset button
at that moment I put electricial plug and sound comes one “beep” waited little more second beep came.Problem seems fixed but I plug out electricial and plug it again that problem happened. I did what I have done pushing reset button and problem seems gone again but If electricity goes off and comes again This problem will happen again. I couldn’t wait when electricial is going to be gone.
At this moment what should I do?
Well, do you still have any access to the OS at ALL?
We need to know the status of your routerboard first and how you can still reach it before we can give you an advise on how to go on.
So, tell us exactly how you connect to that rb?
