I really hope anyone answer my question about connect to hotspot at restaurant such as McDonald, hotel, etc from home.
I bought antenna is 24dBi 2.4Ghz Grid Antenna with RouterOS is 133c with MiniPCI 108Mbps and I put it on the roof and connect to my PC via power I know that it can up to 20km but I scan to hotspot from McDonald or other restaurant or hotel and all are least than 5km and I scan to wireless and I found alot of the list except hotspots are not there. My area has 14 hotspot but I can’t access to one of them hotspots. I brought my laptop and drive to park next to McDonald and it pick up Hotspot is VERY EASY than MikroTIK. I really do not understand. Maybe hotspot is very weak signal but Mikrotik should can find and accesss becasue it is very strong due to 24dBi. I really do not understand.
Yes I wish it is very simply to buy a connect to Internet but unfortunately that in South Africa Internet is VERY EXPENSIVE in the world. I came from Poland I saw that Poland Internet Service Provider is very cheap. Record up to 20mb per second with bandwidth is unlimited and it is cost $101.77 and in England is same up to 20mb per second but I came back to South Africa and here is very bad Internet Service becuase TELECOMMUNICATE has own “Communicate line” copyright which rest of competitors can’t competition with others but only wireless but it is still behind. TELECOMMUNICATE has up to 4mb per second but up 3GB bandwidth CAP. I will use more than 3GB least than a week. They said that I can use too much Internet with 3GB is good enough but they try to make money anyway. It cost $72.16 for 4mb per second with 3GB bandwidth CAP but Poland and others country in EURO has up to 20mb per second or more without bandwidth and similar this cost. Forgot it that is why how can I order Internet connect. Please can you help me to solve the problem to connect to McDonald or others restaurant or hotel, etc because they are 24 hours online, i just pay ISP which I will use Boingo Preuium means unlimited Bandwidth. I found this is only one way.
So…you have a 24dBi antenna but the hotspot has the same antenna?I don’t think so thats why you can’t connect. In another words you can get to them but they can’t get to you. Their signal its just to weak.
