How convert ROS6/7 access-list to wifiwave2 access list

I do have really long wifi access list using the current wireless package.
With many parameters per entry (signal range, time outs, time, forwarding etc) and several rules per client & band.
I would like to have this converted into a wifiwave2 access-list.

I did upgrade ROS6 to 7 of a very complex home router and surprise surprise all works well
(Only had to redo failover routes, but that is a different subject)

The only thing I can not get is moving access-list to wifiwave2, loosing all my access-list.
Anyone seen/found a scenario how to accomplish this automatically?

In addition you can not even copy a registered device to access-list… or missed I something?

Anyone idea how to achieve this or when will there be the option to copy in Winbox registered wifi client to wifiwave2 access-list?

Download easily exceeds 500Mbps, upload stuck at 220. [/quote]

I also have Audience, but till I can migrate my access list I will stay with the regular/old Wifi package.

Are these tests to an iperf server or to an internet provider?

When you do the speed tests, on which of the Audience 5G freq. band are the clients?

The 2x2 lower 5Ghz band or the 4x4 higher 5Ghz band?

The RX throughput (Audience receives from the client) is always worse then the TX (audience transmits).

The PA output power is much higher on the AP than on the client. Especially on the higher 5G band, where the output

power (depending on country) can be up to 30dBm. No normal client does support this , thus the link throughput is not really symmetrical.

On intel Windows clients you can pump up in the adapter settings the output power, this helps me on the same Intel client as you

to have 5G connection without problem (I have it on level 4 or level 5), the standard level 3 output power (medium) is not enough

and I have connection drops.

Always use correct country settings. Else you will have side effects and miss match of bands, output power, etc between client and AP.

Continuing my own post. Updated to 7.2rc
Started to do the wifiwave2 migration and manual Access List migration … (lot of work :frowning: )
All Virtual Wifi interfaces get lost in the upgrade , need to re-adjust all lists, bridge ports, firewalls, masquerade rules etc…

And I got some questions on how the wifiwave 2 packages works.

  • On regular Wifi package, you could untick “Default authenticate” and then you must have an AL entry.

In wave2, this is no more visible (or I did not find this).
Anyone knows how to make this on wave2, that an access list entry must exist for a device to connect?

Also, can the “don’t forward” setting in the access list can be set only via CLI or somewhere in Winbox?

The really good news performance and range is great!
No way I will go back to the regular wifi package again (if I can make it all work )

Did you ever get an answer to the questions about Default Authenticate and Default Forward? I too, want to authenticate only certain signal levels via an access list entry.

Waiting for these answer too.
