Someone explain how restoring a backup doesn’t go back into the working state?
Wrong encryption password.
Different hardware.
A huge leap between source and destination routerOS versions.

I suggest to try to put the backup on a VM and export the configuration to CLI. Then copy it to the newly reset mikrotik bit by bit!
Hardware was the same. Wasn’t encrypted. Versions were the same.
Maybe wrong interface names?
