How do you backup your unit?

Doing a /system backup filename

Backs up your unit saves a copy to the flash. But if you need to replace the entire unit you can’t use that backup on another unit. I understand it’s tied to mac address or something?

So how do you save all your “coding” without sitting down with a piece of paper writing everything down and adding extra time to installs as well as potention “missed information?”

You can use export/import to move complicated and improtant configuration from router to another.

yup...
with filename_dot_RSC you can read more information or configs about router with other text windows applications, otherwise with filename_dot_BACKUP only routerOS can read it... :wink:
