how good are the new products

I just wanted to know how good are the new products.
like the sxt lite 5 and others of the lot groove, 911 etc.

I had a ptp link with earlier sxt which I had to replace with a 433ah board and dbi f50 cards and the throughput increased.
the earlier sxt was not able to give more than 6 mbps and sometimes would choke up at 4 mbps (causing ping drops)

I had various tweaks and configurations tested.

R the faster processor and more memory at lesser price actually giving the same/better performance or the changed chipset with more dbm just messing up things

Need some feedback b4 I plan a purchase.

The SXT Lite 5 works very good as CPE. No problems, fast CPU, good Antenna for the money. I would avoid them in high density installations without shielding. We have moderate weather conditions. Not sure how the casing withstands rough conditions.

Right antennas selection is a part but the most important thing you have to think about it…

i don’t mind spending time on planning but I just don’t want to put up an AP that takes just 4-5 clients running 4-8 mbps bandwidth total. And the more AP’s I add the more noisy it gets I am finding the noise floor going less than 100 at 5 Ghz bands in my region.

I try and decrease the card rates good enuff to connect clients 1-2 km radius. but i still hope 15-20 clients running 10-12 mbps shld be suitable

you mean 15~20 client to get 10~12Mbps?
mean average they getting only 512kbps?

if in this case, it’s very simple, go for the sector at you ap site (90 degree sector but make use it as only 60 degree)…
remember to add on the RF shield to you RF antenna, if you plan to reduce the RF power at AP site, then you have to increase the antenna gain at your client side…

i would advice you go at least 24dbi grid antenna for your client…
