i have ± 150 houses i need to connect and have one high site. Will my access point on high site handle 150 users on 2.4ghz.
if you do not care about level of quality for your customers - probably yes. but they will get very slow speeds (your 2Mbit connection will be divided to 150 ; )
i need to run each client with voip and 128k link for sufring the net?
how much bandwidth can you provide? what is the distance to the ap? what 802.11 mode will you use? what antennas will the clients have? what cpu speed will the router have? is there clear line of sight from each customer? will you not run into interference problems?
all these questions must be answered first
how much bandwidth can you provide…1mb… what is the distance to the ap…no more than 800meters…what 802.11 mode will you use? …802.11g…what antennas will the clients have? …13dbi quad patch…what cpu speed will the router have?..at present im using a routerboard 230, if that makes sense… is there clear line of sight from each customer?..yes… will you not run into interference problems?..interference from the 150 users or outside the development???
150 clients with 1mb i think this will not work so good with Voip if the 150 clients are connected to the same time ..
Regards,
and on a routerboard230? forget it

1mb is just for internet bandwidth, voip breaks out on a seperate link to provider
but you will have only one wireless card for the 150 people + their voip traffic + their p2p traffic and all other stuff.
Normis, how many clients can a routerboard 230 handle… what router do i need to get to handle 150 users…
For that kind of demand i sugest that you make sectored AP with 3 x cm9 or 3 x prism 2.5 cards with pentium at least 900mhz procesor. We have similar AP with 110 costumers.
