No experience with large numbers with wifiwave2 driver. But on WLAN driver (not possible on ax3) 30 active clients is no problem. The theoretical limit there is 2007 connected.
Many devices are just connected (like smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, Iot devices) without actually transferring large amounts of data.
hAP ax3 has quite some memory, so that should not be a low practical limit. But again I don’t have experienced numbers for wifiwave2, with its larger buffers, and memory needs.
