Hi all,
how many mAP 2n devices can connect to each other in the chain?
I plan to be the first device powered from 48V 2A. And behind him I’d put another 4 map 2n in the chain.
Is it ok and will do so?
thanks in advice

From specifications, you’ll get 48V * 0.5 A = 24W from PoE out. Max power consumption form mAP is 2W.
So in ideal conditions it would be 12 mAPs (with max power consumption) but in real life conditions as you suppose it wouldn’t be as much because each mAP will reduce voltage arond ~0.6 V. As well each cable will reduce voltage by X (depends on how long cable is). However mAP will not use whole 2W too (depends on usage) so number can variate.
For conclusion : you definitely will be able to connect 4 mAPs in chain but I can’t give you max number you can connect there as it depends on device usage, cable length and some other factors.
I understand. I thought so.
But if you put the PoE 48V 2A, it would be 96W and it would be safe enough
There will be max 4 devices in the chain. So I think there will be problems. cable length between each will be max 10m.
thanks a lot
From specifications you can’t get more than 0.5 A from mAP PoE out. There shouldn’t be any problems!
